瓶侈口，束颈，溜肩，筒腹，平底无尺，造型挺拔规整，体量硕大。该器以青花为饰，口沿下饰倒垂的蕉叶纹，为此时经典辅助纹饰，腹部绘郊游图，画面生动逼真。此种瓶因造型为筒状，故得别称“江山一统瓶”，明万历朝初见，在清代顺治、康熙两朝被赋予“大清天下一统”的寓意，从而成为民窑中最为流行的器型。崇祯时期瓷器多绘人物故事及说经讲道图，此瓶是崇祯时期典型的外销瓷纹饰，代表了崇祯及明末瓷器鸿最高水平。

The vase is potted with a flared mouth, a waisted neck, sloping shoulders, a cylindrical body and a flat, footless base. The form is upright and well proportioned, and the vessel is of substantial size. It is decorated in underglaze blue. Below the mouth rim is a band of pendent plantain leaves, a classic subsidiary motif of the period. The body is painted with an excursion scene, rendered in a lively and naturalistic manner.

Because of its cylindrical form, this type of vase is also known as a “unification of the realm” vase, or jiangshan yitong ping. The form first appeared during the Wanli reign of the Ming dynasty and, in the Shunzhi and Kangxi periods of the Qing dynasty, came to carry the auspicious meaning of “the unification of all under the Great Qing”, becoming one of the most popular forms produced by the non-imperial kilns.

Porcelains of the Chongzhen period were often decorated with figure narratives and scenes of teaching or preaching. The present vase bears decoration typical of export porcelain of the Chongzhen period and represents the highest level of porcelain production in the Chongzhen reign and the late Ming period.
