瓶作喇叭口，束颈，溜肩，下呈圈足，足底外撇，颈肩两侧分置一对夔凤耳。瓶内与底部施松石绿釉，外壁则以红釉为地，以粉彩装饰，满绘缠枝花卉纹，颈部饰有玉磬，腹部则绘有“暗八仙”纹，胫部与足墙作俯仰变形莲瓣纹装饰。底部有矾红书“大清乾隆年制”六字篆书款。

“暗八仙”纹，也称“道教八宝纹”，分别是葫芦、扇子、花篮、渔鼓、荷花、宝剑、洞箫和玉板，以物代人，指代八仙（铁拐李、汉钟离、蓝采和、张果老、何仙姑、吕洞宾、韩湘子和曹国舅）。

The vase is potted with a trumpet mouth, a waisted neck, sloping shoulders and a ring foot with an outward-flaring foot rim. A pair of kui-phoenix handles is applied to either side of the neck and shoulder. The interior and the base are covered with a turquoise-green glaze, while the exterior is decorated against a red-glazed ground in famille rose enamels with an overall design of scrolling flowers. The neck is ornamented with jade chime motifs, the body with the “Hidden Eight Immortals”, and the lower body and foot wall with bands of pendent and upright stylised lotus petals. The base is inscribed in iron red with the six-character seal-script mark: “Da Qing Qianlong nian zhi” — “Made in the Qianlong reign of the Great Qing dynasty.”

The “Hidden Eight Immortals” motif, also known as the Daoist Eight Treasures, consists of the gourd, fan, flower basket, fish drum, lotus, sword, flute and jade tablet. These objects stand in place of the Eight Immortals themselves: Li Tieguai, Zhongli Quan, Lan Caihe, Zhang Guolao, He Xiangu, Lü Dongbin, Han Xiangzi and Cao Guojiu.
